At the 42nd annual AWGIE Awards in August 2009, Back to Back Theatre was awarded the Kit Denton Fellowship for GANESH VERSUS THE THIRD REICH. The purpose of the fellowship is to promote courage, to champion bold and challenging ideas and to reward talent and excellence in performance writing.

Back to Back Theatre had this to say:

"In the second half of 2010 we will undertake another period of development were we continue to create the work via a process of research, improvisation and scripting.

This lengthy developmental timeframe is essential to our artistic process, as texts are refined and distilled.

At the conclusion of the two development periods, we will have a working script in place for the work.

We have begun some initial dialogue with potential presentation partners and it is likely that the production will premiere in Australia in 2011 and eventually in international contexts.

We are so thankful for the Kit Denton Fellowship as it has allowed us to consistently move ahead with the creation of the work which we hope will be an experience for the audience that is unlike anything seen before."
